In my perfect world...
As my first post, I would like to get out a thought that is constantly crossing my mind, four words that I find myself saying all too often:
“In a perfect world.”
The phrase “in a perfect world,” to me, means a world where things that matter actually matter. Not just a world where everything is perfect, but one that is rid of the limitations that make this world/reality feel so complicated, wrong, and unbearable.
So, without further ado, in my perfect world...
Equality would actually mean equality—nobody would be treated as more or less than the next person, not by race, gender, opinions, or interests.
There would be no politics (one less thing to be separated by), countries would not exist, and owned land would not be a problem because we would all realize the Earth is not ours to begin with.
Humanity would choose peace, so that no one would live in fear of violence or war.
People would not judge each other for being different, strange, quiet, loud, feminine, masculine, creative, serious, or anything else without the fear of what others might say or how they might look at you.
People would actually say what they mean. No mixed signals, games, pretending not to care, or making someone else guess what they feel.
People would listen to each other instead of trying to prove each other wrong.
People could disagree and still have respect for one another.
Nobody would have to feel pressured to grow up too quickly.
People would actually have time to live. Time for friends, music, hobbies, creativity, random adventures, and time for the days spent doing nothing.
Success would not be defined by how much money you have. Having a peaceful life, loving what you do, creating things, and having people you love would count too.
Needing help would not be shameful.
Everyone would have access to the basic needs they need to live safely and with dignity.
Animals would be treated with the same compassion that we today wish people had for one another.
Everyone would have a place they felt they belonged to.
Basically, in my perfect world, humans would know how to simply be humans together, without all the inequalities, hate, stress, and separation that this world brings us.
Also, no religion, as that separates even the most religious of people from their own syncretic religion.Thank you!!
